If you’ve ever felt like there just aren’t enough hours in the day, you’re not alone. Across the media industry, professionals are turning to AI tools and rethinking their workflows to squeeze more out of every minute. But the results aren’t always what you’d expect.
A recent survey of over 560 marketers found that 82% say AI tools have helped them get more done. Yet, only about a third reported a big jump in productivity—most say the improvement is moderate. Susan Ganeshan, CMO at Emplifi, puts it simply: “Marketers don’t need more tools, they need smarter workflows and more agile processes that drive results.”
This is playing out in real life. Freelancers and creators are quietly building five-figure monthly incomes using AI tools to automate tasks like content creation, editing, and even client communication. For example, some graphic designers use AI to generate mockups in minutes, while writers use AI assistants to draft and polish articles faster. The result? More time for creative work and less time stuck on repetitive tasks.
But it’s not all smooth sailing. Burnout is creeping up, especially among remote workers. Data from 2024-2025 shows that nearly half of marketers sometimes or often feel burned out, and 79% of remote professionals say flexible boundaries help lower their stress. The lesson? Productivity isn’t just about doing more—it’s about working smarter and protecting your energy.
Meanwhile, digital printing is also seeing a productivity boost. With new machines that can print customized jobs faster and cheaper, businesses are meeting customer demands more efficiently. For instance, brands are using digital printing for limited-edition packaging and personalized ads, which helps them stand out and connect with customers.
So, what’s the takeaway? AI and new tech are definitely helping media professionals get more done, but the real game-changer is how teams use these tools. Smarter workflows, flexible boundaries, and a focus on well-being are just as important as the latest gadget. As one freelancer put it, “AI doesn’t replace creativity—it gives you more room to be creative.”
In short, the future of productivity in media isn’t about working harder, but about working smarter, staying flexible, and keeping your energy up.
